Alright, good news, at G.D.C. Cliffy B. announced that Gears of War 2 will be released in November this year, YES!! In other news Devil May Cry 4 has a 20 min. install on the PS3, around 5 gigs. of info saved to the hard drive, while there is no install on the Xbox360. According to Sarcastic Gamer Podcast, the 20 min. install on the PS3 is not worth the couple of seconds you save on the load times compared to the Xbox360 version. From what I played on the D.M.C. demo, I will probably rent not buy it. Street Fighter 4 will have the 8 original fighters in the game from SF2 along with totally new ones, and they say the game looks and feels like SF2 allot. In the xbox360 dashboard you can download the XNA Creators Club installer and download 7 new XNA demos for free. Another game I'm waiting for is DBZ Burst Limit which will be available on PS3 and Xbox360 later this year. Blu-Ray finally put the last nail in HD-DVD's coffin when net-flix, Wal-mart and Best Buy stopped selling HD-DVD's and Toshiba, who was making almost all HD-DVD drives, has stopped production on any new drives from now on. Blu-ray ftw. In PC gaming, Spore will be released on Sept. 7 which seems like a game to keep an eye on. And for those PC gamers who haven't yet heard of SteamPowered.com should check it out, it's like Xbox live but for computers, where you can purchase and/or download games, demos and trailers. You can have friends and voice chat over games similar to Xbox live, so check it out, it may be worth a look.

I wanted to talk about xbox live which has still been having problems since the holidays. It's been almost a month already and Microsoft hasn't got it right yet. There excuse is that over the holidays xbox live reached an unexpected amount of subscribers, just over 10 million which is six months earlier than anticipated. They also said they were short staffed and I heard that a bunch of there servers crashed. They need to take care of business, but the free arcade game they are giving us is a good start. The game is Undertow which is a free download in the market place for a limited time only, starting Wednesday Jan. 23 through Sunday Jan. 27, so download it. I also heard that if you had already bought Undertow before this that you can call Microsoft to get reimbursed for the game.

The other day I went to my friends house to try out remote play with the PS3 and PSP. On youtube there are videos showing remote play being used with a PS3 game, Lair, being played on the PSP and we were excited to try it out, but all it would let us do is view pictures and videos that were saved on his PS3's hard drive, which really pissed me off. Maybe we need some homebrew or hacks to make it work but oh well. I don't own a PS3, that's why I went to my friends house, but I do own a PSP. That also was the first time I spent quality time with a PS3 and I wasn't impressed. It feels more like a computer than a gaming platform and the controller really sucks. I'm not being a Sony hater but my Xbox 360 can kick the PS3's but any time. That being said I still would like to purchase a PS3 some time in the future. 2008 is looking to be Sony's year, with Blu-ray winning over the Hd-dvd format, Home coming out, and the line up of games that are coming out like Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Kill Zone 2, and Resistance 2 all look like solid titles. I may need to get a PS3 sooner than later, but for now I'm waiting on a Gears of War 2 to be announced some time later this year and maybe a November release date. I'll stay busy until then with all the awesome games I have to play, so see you I need to go explore some more planets in Mass Effect, laters.
